SOME NEW SKETCHES BY DAVID TIBET ADDED TO THE SHOP

I have added some more of my sketches to the online store. These are all being Channelled by me whilst working on material for my LA exhibition in March 2019.

The 3 pieces titled ANTICHRIST XII, ANTICHRIST XIII, and ANTICHRIST XIV were to have been exhibited in LA, so I held them back, but I have now decided to withdraw them from the show and add other faces from the same series to the show.

All the A4 pieces added are painted in black and red gesso on white A4 paper (8.27 x 11.69 inches, 210 x 297 mm), and are titled and signed in pencil by myself in the bottom left-hand and right-hand corners. These A4 pieces are £139, except for the 3 pieces withdrawn from the LA exhibition, ANTICHRIST XIIANTICHRIST XIII, and ANTICHRIST XIV, which are £193 each.

The larger pieces, ALEPH AS MEDIUM XV, ALEPH AS MEDIUM XVI, ALEPH AS MEDIUM XVII, ALEPH AS MEDIUM XVIII, ALEPH AS MEDIUM XIX, and ALEPH BILOCATING AS MEDIUM I, are painted in black and red gesso on a very thin tissue paper. These have been initialled by me in the bottom right-hand corner in red gesso, with the title written in pencil in the bottom left-hand corner.

The 5 pieces ALEPH AS MEDIUM XVALEPH AS MEDIUM XVIALEPH AS MEDIUM XVIIALEPH AS MEDIUM XVIIIALEPH AS MEDIUM XIX are 15 x 19 inches (370 x 480 mm). They are £293 each.

Aleph Bilocating As Medium I. Black and red gesso. 610 x 840mm

The largest piece, ALEPH BILOCATING AS MEDIUM I, is 24 x 33 inches (610 x 840 mm) and is painted on tissue paper used by Susie Cave to wrap items from her design label, The Vampire’s Wife,  and has the very beautiful crested icon of her label printed very subtly, very lightly, on the paper. It is £393.

Please note: for the SIX larger pieces on tissue paper, the thickness of the ink used, and the fragility and delicacy of the paper, means that there are some small tears, where the ink has soaked in heavily, in these larger pieces on tissue paper. These tears have not been, and will not be, repaired. I love them as they are.

Please ALSO note: Signed-For delivery MUST be chosen at check-out.

COUNT STENBOCK: OF KINGS AND THINGS, SELECTED AND EDITED BY DAVID TIBET, NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER FROM STRANGE ATTRACTOR

I am OverMoon to announce my anthology Of Kings and Things, which brings together my favourite stories and poems by my Utter Hero Count Stenbock, is now available for pre-order from the Gorgeous Strange Attractor. It includes several unpublished poems, as well as a previously unpublished photograph of Stenbock, and many illustrations of his first editions and other items taken from my own Stenbock collection. The beautiful cover and external and internal title fonts have been created and designed by Ania Goszczyńska.

Stenbock is one of my favourite writers and favourite individuals, and has had an immense influence on me and on C93, and I have been publishing his work for many years, and will be continuing to do so. The publisher’s press release follows below.

We at Strange Attractor are putting the finishing touches to David Tibet's highly-anticipated selection of rare tales, poems and essays by the decadent's decadent—Count Eric Stanislaus Stenbock, described by W. B. Yeats as a “scholar, connoisseur, drunkard, poet, pervert, most charming of men”.

With an extensive historical introduction by David Tibet and a foreword by decadent scholar Timothy D'Arch Smith, author of the ground-breaking Love in Earnest which first properly introduced David to Stenbock’s work so many years ago, this remarkable volume offers fourteen stories, including all of those in his legendary collections Studies of Death and The Child of the Soul, over thirty poems and one proem—several previously unpublished—and one essay by this complex and intriguing figure. Also included in the book are illustrations of his rare first editions, and a previously unpublished photograph of Stenbock himself. Available here for pre-order now in a hardback edition, signed by David, as well as in a trade paperback standard editions. To be shipped by 5 March 2018.

Please note: this book is not available, in either format, from DavidTibet.com, and the signed hardback will only be available from Strange Attractor, and not in shops. The paperback is available from Strange Attractor as well as shops, bars, and discos, everywhere. The paperback edition will be distributed by Wiley in the UK and MIT Press in the USA and the rest of world.

NINA ANTONIA’S THE GREENWOOD FAUN WITH A PÆAN BY DAVID TIBET

I was delighted and honoured to be asked by my dear friend Nina Antonia to write a small recommendation to be printed on the back cover of her beautiful new novel, The Greenwood Faun, beautifully produced by Egaeus Press. I loved this book… I love this book. The publisher’s press release follows below.

After much anticipation, we are pleased to announce that The Greenwood Faun by Nina Antonia is available to pre-order.

“A strange and curious novel, steeped in the lingering incense and paganism of the fin-de-siècle.”
   - Phil Baker

“Nina Antonia’s The Greenwood Faun is a haunted, haunting work. Summoning up Lucian Taylor, the hallucinated hero of Arthur Machen’s The Hill of Dreams, Nina channels the curious, captivating story of what happened to Lucian’s literary masterpiece after his death, and how it both saves and destroys those who come across it after it is posthumously published. Shot through with decadence, poetry, opium, and incense, with the ghost of Lionel Johnson as psychopomp and the Great God Pan heavy in the fields, this is a beautifully written proem: witty, crepuscular, enchanting, surprising.”
   - David Tibet

“Decadent in style and, more importantly, in spirit, The Greenwood Faun captures the lush sentiment as well as the mordant irony of the fin-de-siècle, and contrives a delicate balance between them. I loved it.”
   - Brian Stableford

The book has 192 pages; is a lithographically printed, sewn hardback with colour endpapers. It includes a foreword by Mark Valentine. It is limited to just 420 copies. ISBN 978-0-993527876. For more information and to order please click HERE.

Happy SnowMass to you all, and NoNoNO to The DarkBringer.
