The Moons At Your Door: The new album by the final clock of Current 93

new products shop news

We are OverMoon to announce that the new favourite Channelling by your old favourite Family is now available for pre-order online at www.DavidTibet.com. We expect to receive copies in the next 3 to 4 weeks. It is available in 3 separate editions.

The Moons At Your Door consists of two pieces, The Moons At Your Door and There Is A GraveYard That Dwells In Man. All images on the vinyl and CD editions reproduce paintings by David, which illustrate one of the stories in his forthcoming anthology of supernatural fiction, which is also titled The Moons At Your Door, and is published by Strange Attractor Press.

The vinyl edition consists of one 12” record, pressed on opaque white vinyl, housed in her sleep in a gatefold sleeve. The CD edition is cosily tucked away in a digipak gatefold sleeve. The painting on the back of the LP sleeve differs from the painting on the back of the CD sleeve.

The LP costs £18 plus P&P and can be ordered here.

The CD costs £12 plus P&P and can be ordered here.

There will also be a special edition of the album, limited to 93 signed and numbered copies, which consists of the same tracks on the standard releases, but with the music appearing on 2 x 12” black vinyl records, with the blank reverses of the records being screen-printed with more artwork by David, and with a third lathe-cut record channelling the third track of the album, which does not appear on the standard LP and CD. We are currently preparing this edition, of which more details will be made available soon.

THE MOONS AT YOUR DOOR: DAVID TIBET’S ANTHOLOGY OF STRANGE TALES

Strange Attractor Press inform us that this will now be published in early December. All those who have ordered the book from www.DavidTibet.com will receive them as soon as we get them. It now seems that the chapbook, which was to feature originally a story by Algernon Blackwood, will now be another story by a different author, as the Blackwood story will be added to the book. In fact, advance orders for this volume, and comments to us all, have been so encouraging that Strange Attractor will be publishing a second anthology by me next year, gathering together more of the stories and texts that have influenced, and moved, me so profoundly.

The Moons At Your Door is sold out with us, but some copies of the signed hardback edition, with the additional chap-book and extra item, are still available here.

LUCIFER, APPARENTLY, OVER KRAKÓW

We had a LovelyLovelyLovely time in Beautiful Kraków. Many thanks to all at UnSound, especially Mat, Gosia, Aliicja, and Ada, for all their kindness. We were to be appearing at St. Katherine’s wonderful Church, but a ludicrous and tiny Catholic GossipGroup said we were Satanists. And UnSound were Satanists. And all or most of the other artists were Satanists. And everyone else were probably Satanists. And we sacrificed PUGS. It was laughable and sad. There is so much idiocy and paranoia around, and such lack of humour. Even other Catholic traditionalist groups supported us, saying the GossipGroup were idiots. There is an excellent article in the LA Times about it here. The concert was streamed online by Polish Radio, and may still be online, unless the Souls of the PUGS we SACRIFICED have taken it down. Try here,  but be careful you don’t lose your SOUL… or your PETS.

A BENEFIT COMPILATION FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE BUCHAREST NIGHTCLUB FIRE AND A MESSAGE FROM MY FRIEND COSTIN CHIOREANU

Many of you will have heard of the horrifying and appalling nightclub fire in Bucharest on October 30, which killed and injured so many, and resulted in the resignation of the Romanian prime minister and government.

My friend Costin Chioreanu, a close friend of many of those who died, has released a digital download compilation album of some his beautiful work, with all proceeds going to help all victims of this disaster.

Please support this. The album is available here

Costin has sent me a brief piece about the awful event, and details about his benefit, which is appended below.

Thank you,

David Tibet+++

On October 30, local band Goodbye to Gravity were celebrating the release of their second album, Mantras Of War, at the Colectiv nightclub when the tragedy occurred. The fire has already claimed the lives of 50 victims, but that number is rising daily, with more than one hundred further people in hospital, many in critical conditions. In a tight-knit rock and metal community the shockwaves have been massive; musicians, fans, photographers, engineers, security guards have all become victims of this terrible tragedy.

It’s been almost two weeks now, since the tragedy which killed and critically hospitalised many friends, clients, collaborators, and people I knew. At this moment of writing this, 50 people are dead, while many others are in hospitals in critical condition and sadly, the number of the dead is increasing daily. So, by the time you read this, some of the information written here may already be out of date.

I decided to help these people, as all of them are close to my heart, through all possible channels. And, because I received so much international support, I decided to release this compilation, titled The Quest For A Morning Star. All proceeds from the sales will be donated to help with medical bills and funeral expenses of those who have been affected by the fire.

I want to thank all the great musicians who have taken part in these soundtracks—Rune Eriksen, David Tibet, Attila Csihar, Mirai Kawashima, Kimmo Helen, Adrei Ionut and Tudor Diaconescu—for their immediate response and support in making this compilation possible and available for fundraising. The love and support that is out there in the international metal scene is unbelievable. I want to thank everybody who has helped out, from the bottom of my heart.

As for the music, I started to create this music back in 2011, for a personal project, not directly related to metal music or artwork. When working on this type of project, I wanted to include the audible space as well as the visual in my work. So, all this music is extremely personal to me, and many of these soundtracks have never been released before. The spirituality of these works makes it feel quite natural for them to be released for a humanitarian purpose like this. The album is available here.

A GORGEOUS, HAUNTING ALBUM THAT TOOK MY BREATH AWAY

Sometimes an album arises that moves me so much that I don't know how to praise it adequately. DEATHLESS by Jon Seagroatt, Ian Staples and featuring Bobbie Seagroatt is one such album. I recommend it utterly and endlessly and always. I LOVE IT! Some text from Jon Seagroatt, about the project, follows:

Deathless is a 13-track vinyl length album based on Steven Sherrill's retelling of the story of the Minotaur in his novel The Minotaur Takes A Cigarette Break. In Sherrill's re-imagining of the myth, the Minotaur is not killed in the Labyrinth, but escapes to wander the world as a mendicant immortal. The album is a sonic exploration of the novel's themes of ageing and memory, passion and redemption. The first 2 tracks can be listened to here.

The album features Bobbie Seagroatt (singing the opening and closing tracks), Ian Staples (slide guitars and electronics) and Jon Seagroatt (woodwind, electronics, audio manipulation and production).

The physical album is available for £10 plus p&p from: jonseagroatt.com and for £7 digitally from: jonseagroatt.bandcamp.com

ALEISTER CROWLEY ABSINTHE FEATURING A CROWLEY PAINTING IN DAVID’S COLLECTION

David's friend Markus Lion, and his company Absinthe.De, well known to all absinthe connoisseurs, has released an extraordinary new Crowley absinthe, using for its label design an image of a Crowley painting in David’s collection. We attach his press release below, and recommend it unswervingly. Make your PixieTime a GreenFairyTime this Christmas!

Aleister Crowley greatly admired Absinthe and wrote an essay, titled Absinthe, The Green Goddess, in 1917. Anybody interested in Absinthe should read this!

For precisely 10 years now, we have been collaborating with Oliver Matter - a fruitful and successful time for both of us. To celebrate our long friendship and shared passion, we developed this product some years ago. It has mellowed in a barrel for 3 long years and we think now is the time to release it. The idea was to create an Absinthe that is close to vintage Absinthe. So we therefore added a good portion of aged Cognac to the formula, and I think it has worked pretty well in combination with ageing it for a long time in the barrel. Please do not forget that Absinthe is not usually aged for such a long period.

For our first Absinthe (Duplais Verte), David Tibet allowed us to use one of his own paintings for the label design. For this project, he and the OTO allowed us to use a 1931 painting by Aleister Crowley from David's collection. The idea of using an image of Crowley's was sparked by H.R. Giger, when I signed the contract for his Absinthe project back in March 2007. Giger suggested using a Crowley image, as we had just released one with an image by Austin Osman Spare. Unfortunately, Giger was unable to see this Crowley Absinthe come to life, but I'm very thankful for his inspiration!

This is a one-off edition, limited to 418 bottles only. We will not produce another batch of this edition.

BEN CHASNY & SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE

Ben’s new album, Hexadic, is completely, utterly, insanely, mesmerising; one of the most complex and strange and beautiful albums I have ever heard. A lovely piece from Ben Chasny, mentioning C93, is here.

EXPANDED AND REVISED REISSUE OF A COLLECTION OF SHORT STORIES BY CROWLEY WITH A FOREWORD BY DAVID TIBET AND AN INTRODUCTION BY WILLIAM BREEZE

The British newspaper The Guardian ran an informative and interesting piece about Wordsworth’s reissue, with a different cover, of a revised and expanded edition of a collection of short stories by Aleister Crowley, The Drug and Other Stories. The book has a short foreword by myself, and an excellent introduction, and comprehensive notes, by William Breeze. The piece can be read here.

Love to you all from the Lunar Plumes.
